Behind the Scenes: How I Design Newsletter Templates That Work
Designing a newsletter template isn’t just about making it “pretty.” It’s about strategy.
Here’s a quick look at my process:
-
Start With the Goal:
Every template begins with a question: What is this newsletter trying to do? Sell? Educate? Build trust? -
Map the Flow:
People skim. So I make sure each template has a clear hierarchy — subject line, headline, hook, content, CTA. -
Design for Simplicity:
I keep things clean and easy to read. White space is your friend. And mobile-friendly layouts are a must. -
Add Personality:
A newsletter should feel like your brand. I build in space for photos, quotes, and little touches that make it feel human. -
Test + Refine:
Before I sell a template, I test it with real content to make sure it holds up. If it doesn’t make your life easier, it’s not ready.
The best templates are flexible, clean, and make you want to hit "send." That’s the vibe I aim for with every design.
